What are Claude connectors?

Connectors let Claude use the apps you work in, such as Notion, Slack or Stripe, so it can search, read and take actions there for you. Under the hood each connector is a remote MCP server. The official Claude directory currently lists 200 of them, and every one is listed here.

How do I add a connector to Claude?

Open the connector’s page here and click “Add to Claude”, which takes you to its page in the official directory. Or, in Claude, go to Settings → Connectors, find it and click Connect. 179 of the 200 connectors profiled here ask you to sign in to the app the first time.

What are Claude skills?

A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file of instructions, plus any scripts or templates it needs, that teaches Claude to do one job the same way every time. Claude reads the short description of each installed skill and loads the full skill only when a task calls for it.

What are Claude Code plugins?

Plugins bundle skills, slash commands, subagents, hooks and MCP servers into one install for Claude Code. You add them with the /plugin command from a marketplace. The most installed in the official directory is Frontend Design, with 1,134,112 installs.

What is the difference between connectors, skills and plugins?

Connectors give Claude access to another app. Skills teach Claude how to do a task well. Plugins package skills, commands and connectors together for Claude Code so a whole team can install the same setup.

How can I see what a connector can do before I add it?

Every listing shows the full list of tools the connector exposes, as published in the official directory: 14,122 tools across 199 connectors. A tool is one action Claude can take, like “create issue” or “search files”.

Where do the ratings and reviews come from?

From people who have used the connector, skill or plugin. Anyone can review a listing from its page after confirming their email with a one-time code; the email is never shown. Only verified reviews count towards ratings, an average appears once a listing has 3 of them, and we never import or make up ratings.

Is Best Claude Apps run by Anthropic?

No. This is an independent directory. Listing details come from the public official directory, and each page shows when its facts were last checked. Sponsored placements, when there are any, are labelled.
